Timber is next level. It brings durability, hardness, strength and character to any workspace. 

Each piece of timber from pimp my desk is completely unique. Each timber species feature a different colour range. Finding the right timber species for your desk will give you immense satisfaction. When you sit at your desk you'll be surprised each day by the character, colour and natural beauty of your desk.

Messmate is otherwise known as Eucalyptus obliqua. The colour of Messmate ranges from a pale to medium toned brown to light yellow with a hint of peach. A quintessential charactaristic of this timber is the regular gum veins, well defined rings and a course grain.

 

 

Blackbutt

This beautiful timber tends to be creamy light brown in colour, coarse textured, fairly strait grained with common small gum veins. Its hard texture makes it perfect for making furniture.

Tasmanian Oak 

Tasmanian Oak timber is a hard wearing, dense and easy to work with. The wood is light in colour with shades varying from straw to reddish brown with intermediate shades of light pink.

American Walnut

The texture of American Walnut timber is fine and the timber has a generally straight grain, sometimes displaying an attractive curly or wavy grain pattern. The heartwood of American Walnut can range in colour from golden to a rich chocolate brown with occasional streaks of a darker purplish-brown colour.

Tasmanian Blackwood

A magnificent timber with a heartwood that is a rich golden brown. This is sometimes complimented by reddish streaks or a narrow band of darker colour, indicative of the growth rings. The sapwood is much paler in appearance. Blackwood has a medium and even texture. Its grain can either be straight or have a wavy, fiddleback pattern, which is valued for furniture and veneers.

European Beech

European Beech is typically a pale cream/yellow colour, with a brown hue. The heat of kiln drying can change the colour of the heartwood to reddish brown. Texture fine and even. The gain is usually straight. The ends of the large rays give a characteristic fleck to the tangential surface.
